On December 23, the Confucius Institute at University of Al Azhar Indonesia held the 2020 board meeting online, attended by President Asep Saefuddin of University of Al Azhar Indonesia, President Wang Changping of Fujian Normal University (FNU) and members of the board meeting of both sides.
President Asep thanked FNU for its long-standing support to the Confucius Institute which has made remarkable achievements in Chinese education, cultural exchanges and activities, and scientific research over the past decade. It has not only helped University of Al Azhar Indonesia improve the quality of Chinese teaching, but also promoted Chinese education in various regions in Indonesia.
On behalf of FNU, President Wang Changping expressed his congratulations on the tenth anniversary of the Confucius Institute jointly established by FNU and University of Al Azhar Indonesia, hoping that the two sides will take it as a new starting point, further strengthening communication and cooperation in more areas, and working together to create the next “Golden Decade”.
At the meeting, members of the board meeting carefully reviewed and approved the annual work reports of the Confucius Institute and work plans for the next stage. After the meeting, University of Al Azhar Indonesia then held a commendation forum for the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute, briefly reviewed the achievements made by the Confucius Institute over the past decade and commended those from all walks of life in Indonesia who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Confucius Institute.
