From December 17th to 19th, the seminar, jointly hosted by Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and FNU, and co-organized by Fujian Provincial Academy of Arts and College of Music of FNU, was held at FNU. Wu Xinbin, Deputy Director-General of Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Chen Xiaohong, Deputy Secretary of FNU Party Committee, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
The seminar featured three special lectures: “New Visions of the Development Paradigm of Dance Drama in China,” “‘Dual Innovation’ Practices in Dance Drama Creation,” and “Music Composition for Dance Drama,” made respectively by renowned domestic experts Yu Ping, Guo Lei, and Wu Shaoxiong, who also engaged in discussions and exchanges with those from the professional performing troupes in Fujian Province, the backbone of dance choreography and creation, and representatives of college teachers and students from different colleges. The participants conducted in-depth discussions on the history and current situation of dance drama creation in Fujian Province, new trends in national dance drama creation, strengthening the integration of cultural and artistic resources in Fujian Province and the training of local talents, as well as the organization and production, improvement in learning, ontological development, and theoretical research of dance dramas in Fujian Province.
