Days ago, College of Foreign Languages invited Anita Fetzer, professor in the University of Augsburg, Germany and Fransciso Yus, professor in the University of Alicante, Spain as visiting professors. The appointment ceremony was held in the conference room of Run Shaw Building, FNU.Lai Hairong, Vice President of FNU, attended the ceremony and awarded appointment letters to the two professors. Prof. Anita Fetzer and Prof. Francisco Yus respectively gave lectures on writing and publishingPragmatics papers and research methods of Internet Pragmatics.
Prof. Anita Fetzer is a member of the Advisory Committee of International Pragmatics Association and chair professor of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Augsburg, Germany. She mainly studies pragmatics, discourse analysis and functional grammar and has already published many academic papers on contexts, political discourse, discourse relations and communicative behaviors. Besides, she is also the chief editor of the Pragmatics & Beyond New Series series and the editor of the authoritative periodicals such as Functions of Language, Pragmatics & Cognition, Journal of Language and Politics, Internet Pragmatics, Journal of Pragmatics and Text & Talk.
Francisco Yus is the professor of the University of Alicante, Spain, the head of the Interuniversity of Applied Modern Languages Institute(IULMA) in Valencian Autonomous Community and the leader of the Professional and Academic English research team. He mainly studies cognitive pragmatics analysis on media discourse and conversation and he has already published Ciberpragmática (2001), Ciberpragmática 2.0 (2010), Cyberpragmatics: Internet-Mediated Communication in Context (2011) , and Humour and Relevance (2016) and other books.
