On November 10th, Huang Shaorong, Deputy Director-General of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office(the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Fujian Province), led a group of 6 to visit FNU for research. They were from U.S. and Oceania Affairs Division, Asia Affairs Division, International News and Economic Division, and Translation Office. Tu Rong, Vice President of FNU, and relevant responsible persons of Publicity Department, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, College of Foreign Languages, and College of Chinese Language and Literature, participated in the research.
Huang Shaorong and her Delegation visited the university history museum and held a symposium. On behalf of FNU, Tu Rong warmly welcomed them, and expressed his appreciation to Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office for its long-term care and support for the development of FNU, and briefly introduced to the guests FNU’s running situation and advantages.
The head of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange reported ideas of foreign affairs work of FNU in 2022, the general situation of the expansion of foreign exchanges and cooperation, the existing difficulties and work demands related to foreign affairs. The principal of College of Foreign Languages introduced the Chinese culture translation project. Relevant functional departments and colleges had in-depth exchanges with the research group on relevant issues.
Huang Shaorong affirmed our school’s initiative to serve the central and local foreign affairs work and the achievements obtained in internationalized education. She expressed the need to strengthen communication and cooperation, and would give further support to foreign cooperation in running schools, to regional and country studies, and to the construction of Belt and Road Initiative think tanks. She also expected that FNU will continue to give full play to its advantages in running the school, improve the effectiveness of international communication, and make greater contributions to serving the country's overall diplomacy and serving Fujian to promote high-quality development in an all-round way.
