From October 29th to 31st, the 20th Cross-strait College Students Debate Competition, supported by China Association for Science and Technology and led by Fujian Association for Science and Technology, was held in Fuzhou. The debate team of FNU and more than 80 debaters from 16 universities on both sides of the Taiwan Straits (with 8 universities on each side), including Tsinghua University and Taiwan Chengchi University, debated on such topics as Whether Aspiring Young People Should Express Anxiety or Not, Whether the Plan for Immigration to Mars Will Become a Reality or Not, and Whether the Homebodies Culture Will Make Life More Exciting or Decadent. After three days of preliminary competitions, semi-finals and finals, the debate team of FNU, consisting of Xu Libin, Zhang Wenjing, Hong Yiwei, Deng Chaohang and Wang Haoming with Chen Zhi as their coach, won the fourth place and Wang Haoming was honored as “Excellent Debater”.
