On March 18, Li Baoyin, secretary of FNU Party Committee, and Wang Changping, president of FNU, on behalf of all teachers and students, sent letters to condole with cooperative sister universities in Italy, England and Germany upon the outbreak of coronavirus epidemic. They expressed sympathy and support for overseas teachers and students who were fighting against COVID-19 from nearly 20 universities, including University of Catania and Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli in Italy, University of Leeds, University of Ulster, University of Huddersfield, Goldsmiths, University of London and Solent University in England, University of Koblenz and Landau in Germany, the Philippines Angeles University Foundation, University of Alcalá in Spain, University of Tsukuba, Yamagata University, University of Ryukyus, J. F. Oberlin University and Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts in Japan, Western Sydney University in Australian and Massey University in New Zealand.
Letters indicated that in the critical period of FNU fighting against the epidemic, many overseas cooperative universities expressed concern for teachers and students in FNU by letters and phone calls, which showed our profound friendship. It was also stressed that in the current period, when foreign countries were fighting against the pandemic, FNU was willing to work together with these universities to maintain the health and safety of their teachers and students, support and help them with their living and assist them to carry out online education in an intensive and orderly manner.
Many universities replied in succession, expressing gratitude to FNU and saying that in the difficult period of fighting against the epidemic, they were greatly encouraged by the support of FNU and hoped to join hands with FNU to fight against the virus and overcome difficulties. By the time when the epidemic is over, they look forward to continuing to promote two-way exchanges and practical cooperation with FNU to bring benefits to more teachers and students.
