Seminar on “Chinese-style Modernization in the Perspective of Social History” Held in FNU

The seminar was held in FNU on May 13, which was co-sponsored by Department of Social History of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the college of Sociology and History of FNU and the FNU research base of the Fujian Research Center for the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. More than 60 scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, China Agricultural University, Southwest University, Suzhou University and the Steering Group of Chinese local chronicles attended the conference.

At the opening ceremony, Song Yuehong, deputy director and researcher of the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies, and Wu Jianfeng, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave speeches and presented books to the public.

Zhang Xingxing, former deputy director and researcher of the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies, Wang Yugui, professor of the History Department of Suzhou University, and Chang Libing, professor  and deputy director of the center for the study of Chinese social history of Shanxi University gave brilliant reports on the themes of “Grasping the requirements of the times of unity and struggle”, “The party’s theoretical thinking and practical exploration in the new era of solving the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, and “Exploring the social and historical implications of Chinese-style modernization, which provided multiple research perspectives and broad theoretical basis for understanding and promoting Chinese-style modernization from the perspective of social history.
