The event was held on Cangshan Campus of FNU on March 12th. Zhong Zhigang, Deputy Director of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People’s Government, You Libin, Chief of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Research Office, Tu Rong, Deputy Secretary of the FNU Party Committee, and relevant heads of Social Sciences Office, College of Chinese Language and Literature, and the Center for Studies of Fujian and Taiwan attended it. More than 40 experts and scholars from the Institute of Taiwan Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Taiwan Studies Center of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Graduate Institute for Taiwan Studies of Xiamen University, Fujian and Taiwan Studies Institute of Fujian Provincial Party School, Minnan Normal University, Institute of Taiwan Economics of Huaqiao University, Mazu Culture Research Center of Putian University, Modern Taiwan Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Social Sciences, Rural Revitalization Research Institute of Minjiang University, the Center for Studies of Fujian and Taiwan of FNU and other Taiwan-related research institutions attended the symposium.
At the meeting, the document of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People’s Government on the establishment of a research base for the integrated development of Fujian and Taiwan in the Center for Studies of Fujian and Taiwan of FNU was read out, which was followed by the awarding ceremony. The leaders and experts present visited the exhibition of the achievements in the “Research on the Integrated Development of Fujian and Taiwan” in our university, and fully affirmed the scientific research achievements and promotion efforts of the center.
After the awarding ceremony, the academic symposium on “Deepening the Integrated Development across the Taiwan Strait in the New Era” was held, jointly hosted by the Center for Studies of Fujian and Taiwan of FNU, the key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, and the Joint Conference of Taiwan-related Research Institutions of Fujian Province. More than 30 scholars and experts from Taiwan-related research institutions conducted lively discussions on the two themes of “The Situation across the Taiwan Strait and the Prospects for the Cross-Strait Relations” and “The Practical Path for Deepening the Integrated Development of Fujian and Taiwan in the New Era”.
