Recently, ShanghaiRanking issued the 2021 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), and six subjects of Fujian Normal University (FNU) are on the list. Among them, Electronic Power Engineering and Communication Engineering rank among 201st to 300th, followed by Atmospheric Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering among 301st to 400th and Agriculture in 401st to 500th. Atmospheric Sciences debuts on GRAS this year and Electronic Power Engineering has raised its ranking by 100 places compared to 2020.
The ShanghaiRanking uses the following selection criteria: the number of papers published in core journals, normalized citation impact, proportion of papers on international cooperation, the number of papers published in top journals and the number of authoritative awards won by teachers. Based on more than 4,000 universities worldwide, with more than 1,800 from 93 countries and regions, the 2021 GRAS covers 54 subjects in areas such as Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medicine and Social Sciences.
