On Oct. 16th GMT (Oct. 17th Beijing Time), QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) of England released top 400 of QS Asian University Rankings 2018, according to which FNU ranked between 301 and 350. It was the second time for FNU to be listed in the Rankings after its debut in 2016, symbolizing the continuous recognition of constant upgrading of teaching and research in FNU.
This year 103 universities in mainland China were listed in the Rankings, among which FNU ranked 81. Additionally, there were 10 normal universities in the Rankings and FNU ranked 8. The Rankings also included two more universities in Fujian province, namely, Xiamen University (ranking 81 among Asian universities) and Fuzhou University (ranking between 301and 350 among Asian universities).
The Rankings was made out from an across-the-board evaluation, referring to indicators such as Academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (20%), Faculty/student ratio (15%), Citations per paper (10%), Papers per faculty (10%), Staff with a PhD (5%), Proportion of international faculty(2.5%), Proportion of international students(2.5%), Proportion of inbound exchange students(2.5%) and Proportion of outbound exchange students(2.5%).
