The symposium was held at FNU from March 27 to March 28, hosted by China Society of Natural Resources, and jointly organized by School of Geographical Sciences of FNU and Fujian Society of Natural Resources. Attendees at the opening ceremony on the morning of March 27 included Cheng Shengkui, director of China Society of Natural Resources and professor of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Pu Lijie, vice director and secretary-general of China Society of Natural Resources and professor of Nanjing University, Zhao Ming, director of Inner Mongolia Society of Natural Resources, and professor of Inner Mongolia Normal University, Wei Xiao, director of Hunan Society of Natural Resources and professor of Hunan University of Finance and Economics, Yang Rong, vice director and secretary-general of Ningxia Society of Natural Resources and vice dean of School of Geography and Planning of Ningxia University, Zhao Yongjiang, vice director of He’nan Society of Natural Resources and professor of Institute of Geography of He’nan Province, Bao Anming, secretary-general of Xinjiang Society of Natural Resources and professor of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, Chen Xingwei, director of Fujian Society of Natural Resources and professor of School of Geographical Sciences of FNU, other members of the board of directors, Chen Qinghua, vice president of FNU, and the Party and government leaders of School of Geographical Sciences.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President Chen Qinghua delivered a welcome speech, and Prof. Cheng Shengkui delivered an opening speech. The secretary-generals of the 7 participating societies respectively introduced the status quo of their societies, and the directors and vice directors present made exchange speeches on the problems and the prospects of their societies.
