On September 24, the inaugural ceremony of the Indonesian Alumni Association of FNU was held in the auditorium of Alazhar University, Indonesia. Counsellor Zhou Bin from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia delivered a video message. Mr. Li Jian, the new Cultural Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in China, Professor Asep, President of the Alazhar University, Ms. Luiza from the Culture and Language Center of the Ministry of Education of Indonesia, attended the event and delivered speeches. A congratulatory letter from FNU was read out and more than 100 alumni attended the inaugural ceremony.
At the meeting the list of the first board of directors of the Indonesian Alumni Association was announced. Xue Jingyong, an alumnus of the graduating class of 1987, served as chairman and delivered a speech on behalf of the first council. Alumni representatives Fu Bida, Dai Lifang, Qiu Yongquan, Shu Weiya and Lin Xueying shared their experiences and insights of studying at their alma mater. During the party, the alumni performed on stage to express their support for the establishment of the association and their affection for their alma mater.
Afterwards, the first plenary meeting of the first council of the Indonesian Alumni Association was held, and all the members of the council discussed the work plan and other issues such as how to further improve the relevant rules and regulations of the association.
It is reported that the Indonesian Alumni Association has started its preparation since the beginning of this year, during which time Chen Xiaohong, one of FNU leaders, and the Alumni Association Secretariat have called several times to show concern and support to the establishment of the Alumni Association, giving detailed guidance to the structure of the board of directors, the inaugural meeting and so on.
