In the morning of May 13, the 2nd Overseas Talent Forum opened in Hongda Hall on Qishan Campus of FNU. Liang Jianhui, deputy director of the Talent Office and director of the Research Center for Talent Development of the Organization Department of Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC, Xu Zhiyong, director of the Teachers’ Work Division of Fujian Provincial Department of Education, leaders of FNU, including Wang Changping, Pan Yuteng and Zheng Jiajian, heads of relevant departments, heads of colleges, and 58 overseas talents attended the opening ceremony, presided over by Pan Yuteng , deputy secretary of FNU Party Committee.
The forum was directed at talents from all over the world and about 330 registration materials have been received. After evaluation and selection, 58 young talents, from 57 prestigious universities and research institutes in 20 countries and regions, attended the forum, covering almost every discipline (field) of FNU.
In his speech, FNU President Wang Changping, on behalf of FNU, extended a warm welcome to the present guests and the young talents. Using the three colors of red, blue and green symbolically, he comprehensively introduced the evolution of FNU, and the situations of running FNU. He pointed out that the century-old FNU boasts fine traditions, and offers a promising platform to start up businesses and pursue dreams. He also sincerely invited overseas talents to join FNU to jointly move forward, struggle and create a beautiful future for FNU.
In his speech, Mr. Liang Jianhui, on behalf of the Talent Office, the Talent Division of the Organization Department, and the Research Center for Talent Development of Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC, expressed a warm welcome to the young talents from all over the world, fully affirmed the talent-introducing work of FNU, especially introduced the 5 significant talent measures and Fujian provincial talent programs aimed at deepening the reform and opening up, and cordially welcomed overseas talents to Fujian Province for exchanges and common development.
After the opening ceremony, the head of the Personnel Department and Office of the High-Level Talents of FNU, interpreted the talent policy and presided over the thematic reports. Prof. Huang Xinyi with FNU, young Changjiang scholar and winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Doc. LuLi Qianqian, an overseas talent from Indonesian University, and Doc. Zhang Xiao, a German Humboldt Scholar, respectively made an academic report. Besides, the overseas talents visited the library of FNU, its exhibition hall and affiliated schools, and investigated the school’s teaching and scientific research conditions. They also attended sub-forums held by colleges, conduct in-depth academic exchanges about relevant disciplines and negotiate their employment intention agreements.
