On September 15th, the opening ceremony for the first class of Strait Institute of Flexible Electronics was held in Qishan campus of Fujian Normal University. Prof. Huang Wei, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and strategic scientist of our university, attended the ceremony and gave the first lesson to the 2022 freshmen. At the ceremony, Professor Wang Yang and student Zhang Kangxin spoke as faculty and student representatives respectively. The ceremony and lesson were presided over by Chen Xiaohong, deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee.
In The First Lesson of the New Term, Academician Huang Wei presented a lesson named Future Industries: Flexible Electronics--strengthening the root technology and building China's carbon valley. Centering on the four concepts of disruptive innovation for the future, the future development of flexible electronic industry, the recent research and development achievements in innovation team, the opportunities and challenges of the flexible electronics industry, he systematically elucidated the discipline connotation, the development trend of flexible electronics and innovative mission to teachers and students. In doing so, teachers and students are encouraged to be the vanguard of scientific and technological innovation in the new era. Focusing on the key fields of flexible electronics, teachers and students are also encouraged to explore boldly, innovate and create, and then contribute their youth wisdoms and strengths to the initiative of scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement.
Chen Xiaohong concluded in the end that it was highly important for the institute to hold the opening ceremony for the first class and set up the first lessongiven by Academician Huang Wei.
