Recently, Associate Professor Yao Hurong of College of Physics and Energy of FNU, in collaboration with Professor Wang Pengfei of Xi’an Jiaotong University and Researcher Guo Yuguo of the Institute of Chemistry of Chinese Academic of Sciences, has proposed that the construction of P2-type Na-based layered oxides with ultra-low sodium content can effectively reduce the site energy difference between different sodium spacings, thus achieving complete disordering of Na+/vacancy in the whole electrochemical process and significantly improving the rate performance and cycling performance of the materials. In addition, this simple but effective strategy has been universally verified to be applicable to various P2-type materials, providing new ideas for improving the performance of P2-type materials and facilitating the practical applications of the new high-performance Na-based cathode materials. The research results, entitled “New insights to build Na+/vacancy disordering for high-performance P2-type layered oxide cathodes”, were published in Nano Energy. FNU is the first organization of the paper, with Associate Professor Yao Hurong, Lv Weijun and Yuan Xinguang of FNU as the co-first authors, and Associate Professor Yao Hurong, Professor Wang Pengfei and Researcher Guo Yuguo as the co-corresponding authors. This research was supported by the general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province, the Ningde Times Open Fund and other funding agencies.
